Robert Chin joined Clientron on Oct. 1,
2007 as President & CEO.
Before Clientron, he joined Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS)
in Feb. 2003 as Vice President of Corporate Service, in
charge of HR, legal, IT, procurement, logistics, admin.,
industry safety, environment protection, facility & MarCom.
Then he became SVP for worldwide sales, marketing and FAE.
From 2000 to 2003, he was Chief Information Officer (CIO) &
Chairman of Information Security Committee at United
Microsystems Corp. (UMC) UMC is the second largest
semiconductor wafer foundry in the world. Before joining UMC,
he spent 12 years with IBM in Asia Pacific Region with
various management responsibilities. His last position was
General Manager of Public Service of IBM Global Service (IGS)
ASEAN/South Asia Region based in Singapore.
Robert is Board Supervisor of Xabre Graphic Inc. (XGI),
which is the 3rd largest graphic chip design house in the
world & a spin-off from SiS in Jun. 2003. He serves another
hat as CEO of SiS Education Foundation.
Robert participated many industry associations: 1. as
Chairman of Information Committee of Taiwan Semiconductor
Industry Association (TSIA) during 2001 to 2003. 2. as
founding Board Director of Worldwide Semiconductor
Manufacture Sector of RosettaNet Standard Organization in
2000. 3. as Board Director of Taiwan High-tech Industry CIO
Association from 2000 until now.
Robert received a bachelor degree from National Taiwan
University in 1986 and an EMBA, MIS-major, from National
Chengchi University in 2007. He also attended Executive
Program at Harvard Business School in Boston in 1998.
